Available Types for Ticket Creation
------------------------------------

Zammad's ticket creation dialog offers three article types: *phone-in*
(incoming call), *phone-out* (outgoing call) and *email-out* (outgoing
email). This setting controls which of these types are available to agents.
You can only restrict from this set - adding custom types is not supported,
as the available types are defined by the application.

Check which types are currently available:

.. code-block:: irb

>> Setting.get('ui_ticket_create_available_types')

Limit the available types to phone calls only:

.. code-block:: irb

>> Setting.set('ui_ticket_create_available_types', ['phone-in', 'phone-out'])

Restore all default types:

.. code-block:: irb

>> Setting.set('ui_ticket_create_available_types', ['phone-in', 'phone-out', 'email-out'])

Exclude Knowledge Base Categories from the AI Index
----------------------------------------------------

Zammad's :admin-docs:`knowledge base assistant </ai/knowledge-base-assistant.html>`
indexes all knowledge base answers into a vector database for semantic search.
This hidden setting lets you exclude specific categories (and their entire
subtrees) from that index.

.. tip::

You can find a category's ID in the URL of your browser when browsing
the knowledge base in Zammad's admin interface.

The default is an empty list (``[]``), meaning all categories are indexed.

Check which categories are currently excluded:

.. code-block:: irb

>> Setting.get('vectordb_knowledge_base_excluded_category_ids')

Exclude a category by its ID:

.. code-block:: irb

>> Setting.set('vectordb_knowledge_base_excluded_category_ids', [5])

Exclude multiple categories:

.. code-block:: irb

>> Setting.set('vectordb_knowledge_base_excluded_category_ids', [5, 12, 27])

Re-enable all categories:

.. code-block:: irb

>> Setting.set('vectordb_knowledge_base_excluded_category_ids', [])

.. warning::

After changing this setting, you must rebuild the vector database so that
the excluded answers are actually removed from the index (or newly included
answers are added). Run the following in the rails console:

.. code-block:: irb

>> Service::AI::VectorDB::Rebuild.execute

This drops and recreates the vector index, then re-indexes all eligible
knowledge base answers. The rebuild reuses cached embeddings so it does
not generate AI API calls, but the processing can take a moment on larger
knowledge bases.
