Open Arsenal AI and the Autombile Specifications

The AI and the Automobile collection defines a set of specifications for embedding AI into modern automotive systems, reframing vehicles as software-driven platforms where intelligence operates across sensing, decision-making, navigation, and energy systems. It highlights the move toward real-time, safety-critical computing architectures that replace fixed mechanical behavior with adaptable, continuously updated software logic.

Across the specifications, the focus is on building automotive AI through open, interoperable frameworks supported by rigorous safety engineering. This includes shared development practices, simulation-based testing, validation pipelines, and human oversight to manage uncertainty and edge cases. Together, the system is designed as a layered model of autonomy, redundancy, diagnostics, and secure updates to enable dependable large-scale deployment.
