Configuring on AWS

I have been trying to config elastic blast on AWS CloudShell however it doesn't work. Specially when I try config the the BLAST program to be blastn it gives me an error result.

Here's some examples of my input and output statements
INPUT: elastic-blast submit --program blastn
OUTPUT: ERROR: Missing results
INPUT: elastic-blast submit --aws-region us-east-2
OUTPUT: ERROR: Missing results

Im not to sure how to fix this as I thought I was imputing what is needed for each command.

I also did the below {just change [MY NAME IN AWS] to my actual user}, but all of those said "command not found".

Also 2 small questions on the side of all this being

1. is the "db =" going to do the same thing as what blast+ does with the command makeblastdb
2. how would I properly setup for elastic blast to run a blast

Hi @Soph36 , the error message indicates that the location where to store the results isn't configured. Please see https://blast.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/doc/elastic-blast/tutorials/tutorial-cli.html#tutorial-cli for relevant information and let us know if you run into any trouble.

I see that the configuration file above is missing a db setting in the blast section. The quickstart has an example on how to set up a configuration file for ElasticBLAST.

No, the db setting in ElasticBLAST is expected to refer to an existing BLAST database: https://blast.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/doc/elastic-blast/configuration.html#blast-database
