Roadhouse Labs is the personal brand and publishing home of an engineer whose background spans two different environments: earlier work as a Senior Network Engineer at NASA, and current work as a Senior Network DevOps Engineer at an international organization operating across 10,000+ sites.

The name reflects the ethos: a roadhouse is a place built for function, not formality — useful, direct, and open to anyone who shows up. That's how these guides are written.

These guides document the infrastructure I actually run — real configs, real failure modes, and real fixes. Nothing here is a toy example or a simplified illustration. Where there's a gotcha I hit, it's documented. Where there's a decision that could go either way, I explain the tradeoff.

The focus is on self-hosting with modern Linux tooling: Podman, systemd quadlets, firewalld, and the principle that your home network deserves the same rigor as production infrastructure.
