HOT's uMap

This is the uMap instance for HOT, an easy way to create maps with a focus in humanitarian use

It's based on uMap with some extra flavour added by the hotumap app.

Run

Edit source ./env.local.sample and rename it to ./env.local, then:

source ./env.local
cd app && sh ./start.sh

You should be able to open the app in http://127.0.0.1:8000.

With Docker

Edit source ./env.docker.sample and rename it to ./env.docker, then:

source ./env.docker
docker compose -f compose.dev.yml up -d

You should be able to open the app in http://127.0.0.1:8001.

Production

For production you might also want to define a website domain and S3 storage.

Edit source ./env.prod.sample and rename it to ./env.prod, then:

source ./env.prod
docker compose -f compose.yml up -d

Useful commands

Create superuser

uv run python manage.py createsuperuser

Or, in Docker:

docker exec -ti hotumap uv run python manage.py createsuperuser
