This is an inaccurate label. I know this is ancient history, kf8 was introduced 4 years or more after the kindle; the earlier kindles were never updated to support kf8 - they used mobi, which we still produce. I will start a discussion in the DP forums about ceasing mobi production (that format was used in readers older than kindles) |

ok. In the meantime we should still change the label. It's plainly misleading that it's called "Kindle" despite clearly not being the right choice for most Kindle users. Ideas? |

All I know is from some web searching, but 'Older Kindles (kf8)' seems accurate. It was introduced with Kindle Fire, but I don't know if it was limited to that. |

That will be interesting. If it stays, why not "Kindles (kf8)"? simple. |

kf8 download option is currently shown as "Kindle" in the UI. That's misleading, since it's clearly not the right choice for most Kindle users. Change to "Older Kindles (kf8)".
