Invalid Profile error after calibrating and profiling

First time here, first time on Github, please let me know if there's more information I can provide.

After calibration and profiling is complete, I get an error message saying "Invalid Profile" which forces me to terminate the current action. This is not ideal as I wish to then generate LUTs from my profile for use in Resolve. I've followed the Wiki on how to best generate LUTs for Resolve, and all steps there are followed.

I've tried renaming the profiles to something alphanumeric and simple, to no avail. Happened when I profiled with 1155 and 1553 patches.

I did manage to find the ICC profile created after I terminated the action, along with the .ti3 file. I tried using the .ti3 file to create a new profile in DisplayCal for LUT generation, only to replicate my issue.

Try Argyll 2.3.1 and DisplayCal 3.9.14 instead. I am using this combo with no big issue

May I know where you’re able to download the older versions of these items from? Sorry to sound like a noob haha - I couldn’t seem to find older builds of Argyll especially

@tjsee can you please try with ArgyllCMS 3.3.0, you can download it from: https://www.argyllcms.com/Argyll_V3.3.0_osx10.6_x86_64_bin.tgz

1. After you download the *.tgz file, open a terminal
2. Run:

cd ~/Downloads
tar -xvzf Argyll_V3.3.0_osx10.6_x86_64_bin.tgz
cd ./Argyll_V3.4.1/bin
xattr -d com.apple.quarantine *

3. Open DisplayCAL and use the file menu and select "Locate ArgyllCMS executables..."
4. Select the ~/Downloads/Argyll_V3.3.0/bin/ folder.
5. And do a new calibration and profile.

Okay so I tried reproducing this with ArgyllCMS 3.4.1, and I believe the original problem was already fixed with #589.

So, if you try using the development version by following the manual installation instructions here (or if you have all the required tools you can use the Makefile workflow too) it would be lovely.

@tjsee DisplayCAL 3.9.17 is released, can you please test this with it.
