* Add backup alternatives documentation for DANDI Archive This document outlines various backup alternatives for the DANDI Archive, including S3 replication, tape storage options, and institutional servers. It details functional and non-functional requirements, proposed solutions, limitations, and cost estimates for each backup method. * Revise backup alternatives with advantages, limitations, and costs Updated the backup alternatives document to include new sections on advantages and limitations for various backup solutions, including Deep Glacier, Tape (NESE/Granite), Servers (OSN/ORCD), and Distributed System (Bacula). Removed outdated information regarding NESE Tape and added cost summaries for each solution. * Refine backup alternatives documentation Updated formatting and added details for backup alternatives, including replication, backup, and proposed solutions. Enhanced clarity and organization of information regarding costs and considerations. * Revise backup alternatives with updated pricing and considerations Updated considerations on geographical data loss, service provider diversification, and sustainability. Added ORCD pricing details and amortization calculations. * Update backup alternatives documentation This document expands upon the Deep Glacier design to include all known alternative backup options, detailing their advantages, limitations, and costs for comparison. * Revise considerations on data loss and service providers Clarified the implications of geographical data loss and vendor lock-in in the backup strategy. * Revise backup alternatives documentation Updated section headers and added cost details for ORCD.
