thanks @paluh — if I remember correctly from that meeting, we mentioned that the Draft status was available for documents that CIP authors wanted to release for comment but that were not ready for review.
From what I can see in this document, it's an early version of the protocol rather than a release-ready API which I think (pending other editors' agreement) would be suitable for a CIP because of the diverse entities that would be using it.
Since the latter stages of the document (practically everything beyond this early spec) haven't been written yet — and maybe can't be written until the spec is further refined — I'll set this Draft mode (which can be updated by yourself or any editor) which will also allow it to incubate further here without getting introduced at a CIP meeting (next one = tomorrow).
If you need to use the CIP forum to find reviewers at this stage of the writing / development, please post here and we can tag it Triage to present it at the meeting early. Otherwise this will happen in due course after taking out of of Draft mode.

@paluh are you still working on this? (cc @simonjohnthompson @nhenin) — if so, please let us know what to expect from the current
|
Yes, we are back at it, but in the meantime we have been a bit delayed by unforeseen circumstances - a larger and ongoing refactoring of the infrastructure and the core validator. We are moving now to more realistic and thorough validation of some assumptions from that document.
I fully understand that. On the other hand we plan to flesh out all the missing details rather soon (in September) and wrap up the accompanying implementation by the end of the year - I expect that this could be a hard deadline for this spec. |
I'm submitting this draft version of our proposal to start some discussion around it. This step was suggested a few months ago during the "CIP Editors Meetings".
Of course we are more than happy to iterate further over this proposal.
