• cleanup: removed .msi compilation target, now only .zip is provided; originally .msi` was only created to satisfy some package manager requirements, however this is not longer needed.
• cleanup: sha-256 checksums are not published alongside releases anymore, because GitHub now provides automatic checksum generation for all release assets.

• new: new Firefox profiles (aka "Profile Groups") are supported in autodiscovery, as well as classic Firefox profiles; containers are also supported, so you can mix and match all three.
• new: more release channels are supported in autodiscovery for Firefox (Developer Edition, Nightly, ESR). Hey @Iz-zzzzz from #132!
• improvement: picker width is resized dynamically based on the length or URL and number of browsers/profiles (previously just number of browsers/profiles).
• improvement: picker UI elements are displayed in natural order: URL, actions, settings.
• improvement: toast will not overflow the screen if URL is too long.
• improvement: added extra button in browser configuration to open data folder, helping to understand to what BT thinks it is.
• visual change: "About" window has gone and system information is now just part of the "Help" menu, making the UI less cluttered; some indicators removed because they were not useful (CPU/Memory usage which you can get from the Task Manager).
• visual change: "Discover firefox containers" option moved to "Tools", next to "Rediscover browsers", because they are logically close.

• privacy: BT used to send basic telemetry on app start (app version and the fact it's started) and even this was removed completely, because I do believe in total privacy; there is also no automatic check for updates or any calls any external online services - you get application that is 100% yours, does not expire, does not collect or sell your data, forever; if you need to be up to date, I do try to keep winget feed fresh.

5.4.0

• new: Helium browser is now properly detected as Chromium-based browser with correct profiles. The issue was that Helium .exe is named chrome.exe so BT thought it was Chrome.
• new: new approach to handling Firefox profiles and containers. BT can now discover all profiles and all containers at once, so you don't have to choose between profiles and containers anymore. Each profile and container is listed separately in the picker. This makes Firefox handling much more ergonomic. Note that autodiscovery for "new Firefox profiles" is still not done, but should come in a next version.
• new: we are switching to subscription model - it is possible to buy a monthly subscription rather than a one-time license. Pricing:
  • Full one-time license: $0.
  • Monthly subscription: $0.
  • Yearly subscription (after 20% discount i.e. $0 * 0.80): $0.
• improvement: Firefox has changed containers implementation which broke discovery. This is now fixed.
• breaking: custom browser extensions are no longer supported. This includes both Firefox and Chromium extensions.• The main reason is a string of reviewers who kept marking the extensions down claiming they "do not support Linux" — even though the listing plainly says "Windows only", and combined with frequent browser breakages and my limited maintenance time, I decided to remove them. In addition to that, I myself have very limited time to maintain these extensions, and every new browser release breaks them in some way. Therefore, I have decided to remove them completely. If you are a developer and wish to maintain these extensions, please contact me.

5.3.0

• improvement: BT will now use high resolution icons extracted from .ico files.
• improvement: toast notification also displays the source application that made the call to open a link - useful to detect "ghost" clicks.
• improvement: health checks display more information on why exactly a health check has failed. For instance, when the "default proxy check" is failing, the tooltip displays what BT was looking for and what was actually found.
• firefox extension: fix Gecko extension not handling protocol confirmation, by @JustMrPhoenix in #122.
• docs: documentation has moved from GitHub Pages to Project page due to a risky situation with Writerside which was hosting the pages but is now being sunsetted. Most links have been updated accordingly, however old release notes still point to GitHub Pages. I will keep the GitHub Pages online for the time being, but it will not be updated anymore.
