🃏 Welcome to Mystic Hold'em Mystic Hold'em is a magical, single-file browser adaptation of Texas Hold'em. Players compete against two AI opponents—Archmage Alaric and Rogue Sylas—in a battle of wits, luck, and mystical chip management. The objective is to win the pot by either forcing all other players to fold or by having the highest-valued hand at the final showdown.
📜 How to Play
You begin with a stack of 1,000 mystical coins (🪙). A hand consists of two private "hole" cards dealt to each player, and up to five "community" cards dealt face-up in the center of the table. You will use a combination of your hole cards and the community cards to form the strongest possible poker hand.
At the start of each hand, every player automatically contributes an ante/blind of 10 coins to seed the pot.
⚔️ The Flow of Battle
A single hand of Mystic Hold'em proceeds through the following phases:
Pre-Flop: Every player is dealt two private cards. A round of betting occurs based purely on the strength of these hidden cards.
The Flop: Three community cards are dealt face-up in the center of the magical felt. Another round of betting commences.
The Turn: A fourth community card is revealed, followed by a third round of betting.
The River: The fifth and final community card is revealed, triggering the final betting round.
The Showdown: If more than one player remains after the final round of betting, all cards are flipped. The player with the strongest hand wins the pot.
🪄 Player Actions
When it is your turn, the magical action bar will appear at the bottom of the screen. You must choose one of the following actions:
Fold: Surrender your cards and forfeit any coins you have already put into the pot. You will sit out until the next hand begins.
Call/Check: Match the current highest bet on the table to stay in the hand. If no one has raised the bet before you, this acts as a "Check," meaning you pass the action without putting in additional coins.
Raise: Increase the current bet. You must enter your desired raise amount into the input box. The other players must match your new total to remain in the game.
🏆 Winning the Pot
The game features a streamlined, custom hand evaluator designed for quick browser play. Hands are ranked primarily by finding duplicate values and suits. The general hierarchy of power is as follows:
Flush (Five cards of the same suit)
Four of a Kind (Quads)
Full House (Three of a kind + a pair)
Three of a Kind (Trips)
Two Pair
One Pair
High Card (If no player has a pair or better, the highest single card value wins)
Note: If all other opponents fold during any betting round, the remaining player automatically wins the pot without having to reveal their cards!
