First stable release

History is hard to maintain as the project have moved from closed source to open source. (And have moved around a bit on different repos as well).

This marks the first stable version of this library in this repo. The code is in use in several products and is fairly well tested. Waiting for more patches from various products teams before bumping up to v1.0.0

Initial release
