Hey there! I spend quite a lot of time working on property-based testing and fuzzing. While I'm an academic at heart, I focus on writing high-quality, impactful software, which is why I left my PhD program at Northeastern with a Masters for industry.

I maintain Hypothesis, Python's property-based testing library1. Together with Zac, I wrote HypoFuzz, a coverage-guided fuzzer for Hypothesis.

I participated in both iterations of METR's widely cited study on AI productivity.

In October 2025, I co-authored this NeurIPS workshop paper with Anthropic (blog post).

As of December 2025, I'm at Antithesis, where I co-authored and maintain the next-generation property-based testing library Hegel with David.

Other things I'm proud of:

I don't use social media. Feel free to email me at orionldevoe@gmail.com.

Footnotes

  1. Hypothesis also happens to be the most popular property-based testing library of any language, period.
