Feature Specific Decisions
This is a collection of direction decisions that have been asked before.
- Must be designed for function over form; interesting mechanics first and theming comes afterwards.
- New species must not be designed based off of mundane features as these make it harder to justify changes to. (For example, felinids are based off of cat and human which are both mundane, specific and have expectations by players which make them very hard to modify)
- All new features must be justifiably unique, otherwise they should be a modification to the existing similar species.
- All traits should be based off of organs, unless they reasonably apply to every cell in the species' body.
- Give security officers the ability to select 1 of certain categories of gear.
- Allow both tasers and the standard security sidearm to fit in backpacks.
- Significantly increase equip delays, but make them only apply to guns inside of backpacks.
- New item holster belt:
- 2 slot belt (If possible, one slot is reserved for the handgun)
- Holds the security pistol
- Holds a spare pair of handcuffs
- Clicking on it quick-draws the pistol instead of opening inventory
- Alt/right click opens the inventory
- New item: Energy Snare Generator
- Rechargable item
- Places down energy snares on the ground, which snap and attach to anyone walking over them
- New item: Arrest-track Sensor
- Item that can be placed on the ground, stack of 5
- Interact to pick up, takes some time
- Activates when picked up
- Activates when someone with arrest status steps on it
- When activated, an audible alarm sounds and a message is sent on the security channel indicating the location.
