Why
A declared mood/stance gives other systems a consented, machine-readable emotional signal without NLP guesswork: bystander reactions (#2987), relationship development rolls, scene tone, NPC regard events, and the appearance layer ("she looks furious") can all read it. It is also a web-first UI natural — a stance picker beats emote syntax.
Shape (for spec)
Player-declared, per-persona, scene-scoped state from a curated vocabulary (per the mechanize-theme tenet: mechanics enforce theme). Never inferred from prose. Consumers subscribe; the declaration itself stays cheap and reversible.
