I use git worktrees to have multiple branches checked out. I can switch between them with https://github.com/polarmutex/git-worktree.nvim. However, the .nvim/xcodebuild files seem to require absolute paths to be used; this means they always point to the same worktree (main, or master, in my case). I modified them to use relative paths (../../appname.xcworkspace) but when I then reran :XcodebuildBuildRun, it reverted them back to the absolute paths.
