You already have a notification in the script and dependencies are stated in the documentation.

I might consider removing it. You're right, it should be easy for a user to read the error message and install git themselves. Like I mentioned in #236, the native install is not the recommended way to install SolarThing.

Did this cause any specific problems? I can agree with this not being best practice, but IMO seeing that apt-get is there and git is not, I think it's perfectly reasonable that installing git shouldn't cause issues for most systems.
