Will there be a self-hosted Clickhouse option or not?

The subject says it all, but having a machine with 120 GB of memory, plenty of CPU power, and over 15 million records in MySQL, and Umami still takes 5 minutes to bring back 90 days of data, slowly becomes unbearable.

If not, just let us know so we at least have an answer.

You can run Clickhouse today. We just don't officially document or support it because there is no easy way to handle migrations like you have with Prisma.

To run Clicklhouse:

1. Create the database tables from the files under db/clickhouse. There is a schema file and migrations.
2. Create a CLICKHOUSE_URL variable in your .env.
3. Run the app.

Note:

1. You still need to run the Postgres/MySQL database. Clickhouse just handles event data.
2. The database can change in future releases and you'll have to manually apply migrations.
3. In Clickhouse, the event and session are in a single table. When you migrate your data, you will need to join all the events to their sessions.
