Can't initialize WASAPI:5003

Describe the bug
Trying to add a soundtrack with an external input. I am using a Behringer UMC404HD. When I select the inputs, I get the error in the top right corner of the screen 'Can't initialize WASAPI:5003'

and below the Input Device IN 1-4 (2- BEHRINGER UMC 404HD 192k) (NOT FOUND)

I think this is related to the categories described in this article: Windows Audio Stream Categories. But what that means is beyond my knowledge.

Could it be a driver issues? Maybe the device is exclusively locked by another device?

What happens if you try and use something more standard like 48Khz?

thats not a setting, thats the maximum sample rate of the Audio Interface. Its the product description.

Possibly, but unlikely as nothing else is open. There is no other software opened on the computer. Just TIXL.

I can open up Ableton and run the interface fine, or Reaper, or PureData.. its just TIXL

My message was pointing out that you are assuming that I am using 192khz. That text you are reading in the image is the product name. I know that sample rate is a setting that can be adjusted. Does that make sense? You assumed I am using 192khz but were reading the product information: **THE BEHRINGER UPHORIA UMC404H 19KHZ **

Incidentally there are a number of issues listed with this particular sound card for many applications using WASAPI and there is quite a bit of advice online about it ..
Great, I have none of them. The only issue I am having with it is in TIXL. I'm not sure what the advice is you are offering here?

it is directly related to the soundcard forcing a particular sample rate rather than using the sample rate the application is expecting to use..
No, as I pointed out, the sample rate is set at 48khz.
It's clearly NOT why I have no issues using PD, nor Ableton, nor Reaper

I'm not really sure, what's going on here. (But we should try to keep a friendly tone and and assume best intends.)

I'm trying to think about how to narrow this down. My settings look similar:

Do you have other audio-output devices on your computer that you could test with TiXL?

The code we use to initialize the audio-input looks like this:

So there is nothing special going on. Audio stuff is complicated, so it could be all kinds of problems (even some weird windows privacy settings). I'm not saying this to deflect, I really want to figure out how to fix that or at list give a warning that helps users to change some settings etc.
