Why sponsor us

Psycopg is maintained by a small dedicated team and your sponsorship is what lets us grow. The priority is funding additional maintainer time so the project the Python and PostgreSQL community depends on becomes more resilient, better supported and built for the long term.

Funds go directly into the development and maintenance of Psycopg 3 and Psycopg 2, and the wider ecosystem of tools we maintain around Python and PostgreSQL. What we have built

The Psycopg team works at the intersection of Python and PostgreSQL. Our flagship project, Psycopg, has been the de-facto standard PostgreSQL adapter for Python for two decades. Psycopg 3, production-ready since late 2021, was built from the ground up for modern Python and PostgreSQL, with best-in-class performance and native async support. It is used across the ecosystem, from web frameworks and ORMs to data tools and cloud database services.

What we want to do

There is no shortage of things we want to build. Projects like replisome, a flexible replication and messaging framework for PostgreSQL, and pg_seldump, a more flexible alternative to pg_dump for selective data extraction, are waiting for the time to take them further. Beyond these, ongoing work on Psycopg itself, keeping pace with new PostgreSQL and Python releases, improving performance, and deepening the core integration, is constant and never really finished. Your support is what makes all of it possible.
