Become a sponsor to Abdelraouf Sabri

Hi, I'm Abdelraouf πŸ‘‹

I make small, quiet, private software for the Mac. Sponsorship is what keeps it that way.

Where this comes from

When a highlight loads in the NBA, LaLiga or Wimbledon app, it's running on video infrastructure I helped build. Before that, Vodafone's mobile money platform β€” where a payment either clears or somebody doesn't eat, and a security hole isn't a ticket in a backlog, it's a headline. Along the way I mentored a wave of African Android developers through Google's developer scholarship, and earned a Certified Ethical Hacker badge, which mostly means I've spent years studying the ways software quietly turns on the people using it.

So I know how the apps on your phone are built. That's precisely the problem.

So I build the opposite

Everything I ship on my own has the same spine: no tracking, no analytics, no crash reporters, no ads, no accounts. Unplug your Mac from the internet and my apps keep working β€” because they were never talking to me in the first place.

πŸ•Œ PrayerTimes Pro β€” prayer times living quietly in your menu bar. Every calculation runs on your own machine, in your own language, right down to the minute, entirely offline.

Alongside it, a shelf of open developer tools that stay free because nobody is paying me to make them worse.

What your sponsorship actually pays for

Not "supporting my work" β€” these specific things:

  • The Apple Developer Program, $99 a year. Without it the app is unsigned, undistributable, and gone from the App Store. The bill arrives whether or not I ship.
  • Claude Code Max, $200 a month. The AI pair I build with, and my largest recurring cost by a wide margin. It's the reason one person can ship at the pace of a small team.
  • The hours themselves. Every feature gets built after a full workday. Sponsorship is the only thing that turns into more of them.
  • More languages. Putting this in the hands of people who have never had it in their own script.
  • The right to say no. No to ads. No to an analytics SDK "just for insight." No to the acquisition email. Independence stops being a principle the moment you can't afford it.

If any of this has earned a place on your Mac, even $1 a month keeps it exactly as it is. That's the whole pitch. πŸ™
