Status Panel: "Information" tooltip lacks legibility (light gray on white background)

2.2 seems to have introduced a small circular widget at the start (left) of the Status panel’s bottom bar, which is just a white circle on my install. When hovered, a small tooltip displays the text “Information”. On my system, Windows 11 25H2, which uses dark mode (light-on-dark color scheme), the word is written in a light grey on a white background, making it hard to read:

While this may be an easy fix, I should add that I find this widget’s role unclear, even after reading the tooltip.

It is a status indicator. For successful encryption or decryption, it turns green, and for failed encryption or decryption, it turns red.

But I just observed you are using a dark theme on GpgFrontend. Why can't I use it on Linux? 🫤

I did nothing to use a dark theme specifically for GpgFrontend. I assume the theme is dark because my system (OS) theme is dark. I really don't know GpgFrontend enough to advise further.

This is just a traffic light, indicating the opera status:

• err -> read
• warn -> yellow
• succ -> greeen

On linux, I can notice the dark theme only take effect at the flathub version. I am using debian.

We dont have a doc yet. The white means nothing, or an initialized state.

and flathub has older gpg version so it means no dark mode for me.

If I understand correctly, I would suggest displaying nothing in that case (if not, the tooltip “No information”).
