Issue converting Gradient Spin Echo DICOM data from Philips MR7700 to NIfTI

Hi,

In the research group where I work, we have recently started acquiring MRI data using a Philips MR7700 scanner. When converting DICOM data from a Gradient Spin Echo sequence to NIfTI format using dcm2nii, the conversion has not been successful (see attached image).

Could this be related to an issue with how the DICOM headers are being read? During the conversion, dcm2nii correctly outputs the 32 echoes of the sequence as 32 separate Nii files; however, the resulting images appear corrupted or incorrect (see attached image).

Is this a known issue when converting data acquired on Philips MR7700 scanners? Could it be related to the scanner software version or to the DICOM implementation used by this system?

Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much in advance!

I forgot to include the command I used for the conversion, in case you want to take a look at it.

dcm2niix -o Users/migue/Desktop/nii -z y Users/migue/Desktop/MRI_data/24015

@miguelrivasfdez can you follow the template for the dcm2niix bug report and confirm that you are using the latest version of dcm2niix.

Specifically, please report the complete version string. This is always the first line generated when running dcm2niix. For example:

Chris Rorden's dcm2niiX version v1.0.20250506 Clang17.0.0 ARM (64-bit MacOS)

It would also be helpful to know the release version of your Philips software. This information is available both in the original DICOM files and in the JSON sidecar files generated by dcm2niix.

Please note that Philips R11 introduced several regressions. You may want to confirm that your system software is fully up to date and consult with the Philips Clinical Scientist associated with your center to address any known issues. While dcm2niix attempts to accommodate atypical DICOM behavior where possible, it is strongly preferable to acquire archival-quality DICOMs rather than relying on downstream tools to compensate for acquisition-side issues.
