Additional configuration to perform after deploying the Jfrog Container Registry server.

Please note that followings configuration may not be accurate for every deployments. These settings allowed Admin to make sure the Jfrog Container Registry server is configured with necessary additional configuration.

Accessing the webui from http://IPADDR_OF_SYSTEM will leads to the onboarding wizard.

Onboarding Wizard.

After login with default credentials Click on Get Started to start the Onboarding Wizard.

  • EULA Confirmation.
    • Accept the License.
  • Sign for Updates.
    • Skip since the notification subscription.
  • Reset Admin Password.
    • Change the admin user password.
  • Set Base URL.
  • Configure Default Proxy.
    • If this setup is configured in an environment where a HTTP Proxy server need to be used for outgoing communication then Configure Proxy otherwise Skip Proxy.
  • Create Repositories.
    • If the default repositories need to be created then Select the default repository types otherwise Skip as we can create these repositories later.

Once the Onboarding Wizard finishes we can setup additional configurations.

Navigate to the Administration Setting Panel for modifying system-wide settings.

User Management.

  • Settings.
    • Security Configuration.
      • User Security Configuration.
        • Uncheck Allow Anonymous Access.
        • Select Hide Existence of Unauthorized Resources.
        • Password Encryption Policy.
          • Select Supported.
        • Session Timeout (minutes).
          • Default timeout 30 Minutes.
      • User Locking.
        • Select Lock User After Exceeding Max Failed Attempts.
        • Max Failed Login Attempts.
          • Enter 6.
      • Token Expiration.
        • Default Token Expiration (Seconds).
          • Enter 15768000 for 6 Month.
        • Select Enable Email Notification for Token Expiration.
      • Password Expiration Policy.
        • Select Enable Password Expiration Policy.
        • Password Expires Every (Days).
          • Enter 365 days.
        • Select Send Mail Notification Before Password Expiration.
  • Groups.
    • Delete default group readers.

General.

  • Settings.
    • General Settings.
      • Server Name.
        • Enter Server name to be displayed on each page.
    • Look & Feel Settings.
      • Upload custom Logo for server to be displayed on Login screen.
    • Custom Message.
      • Select Enabled.
        • If a message needed to be displayed on each web pages as a notification or as an announcement.
    • Custom Login Dialog.
      • Select Enabled.
        • If a message dialog needed to be displayed upon login for either once or for every login.
  • Mail Server.
    • Mail Server Settings.
      • Enter information related to SMTP server for enabling email sending.

JFrog Container Registry.

  • General.

    • Settings.
      • Trash Can Settings.
        • Select Enable Trash Can.
        • Retention Period (Days) .
          • Enter 7 days. Adjust the configuration depending on the needs.

  • Services.

    • Backups.
      • Configure backups according to the needs. For more info please check Backup and Restore.

  • Advanced.

    • Maintenance.
      • Garbage Collection.
        • Configure garbage collection according to the needs.
      • Storage Quota.
        • Select Enable Quota Control.
        • Storage Space Warning (Percentage).
          • Enter 70 percentage.
        • Storage Space Limit (Percentage).
          • Enter 80 percentage.
