What happened?

A bug happened!
I guess thats the sign to go away from this raspberry shit. Why did you upload updates that dosent work. I buyed money in this so PLEASE test UPDATES unbelievable

Your screenshot indicates you are running an outdated version of Raspberry Pi Imager (v1.8.5 was released 21st Jan 2024).

Raspberry Pi Imager 2.0.6 is the current version (as of this date), and is available here:

But our up to date appimage doesn't work the window is completely transparent? So I tried it with emerge and even that version that is provided on Gentoo overlays doesn't work

Try running the AppImage in the terminal to see if there are any warning or error messages.

Imager 1.8.5 uses the same "OS repo URL" of https://downloads.raspberrypi.org/os_list_imagingutility_v4.json as Imager 2.0.6, so if you're getting a blank OS list then Imager wasn't able to download that URL for some version. Again, logs would be useful.

@nico2004444 I'm not sure what you expected to achieve with that opening tirade, but you're falling short of expected conduct on this issue tracker. Consider this a warning: play nice.

Now, to the issue at hand: Yes, @lurch is correct that I would've expected the device selector to still be operational on 1.8.5. Most likely, this is an SSL issue (those were fairly common in that vintage of Imager), however other likely candidates were the IPv6/v4 issue (does your network provider give you correct IPv6 routing) or a compositor issue (do you have libxcb installed?)
