Description
Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
When I write SD cards, I'm given a list of a 16GB or 32GB SD card, plus a 2TB external disk and a 2TB Time Machine backup, etc. I am paranoid that one day I will accidentally image to one of these.
Describe the solution you would like to see implemented
Perhaps a panel where I could add targets to not consider.
Or right-click a target and say "Add to exclude list".
Or, manually drop a file in the target's root dir to exclude it.
Or, a hidden setting via defaults (on OSX).
Or, a setting for "Don't consider disks larger than ".
Or, a checkbox to not show disks with APFS or HFS+ filesystems
[I realize that is not really a portable concept given how /boot and / are fomatted.]
Describe alternatives you've considered
Right now I'm considering just writing a shell script to write the images from a Linux box. Then I could wire in these checks.
