Embed badge for repository

I have different libraries and apps and these are for different purposes. As such, I would like to have a badge to show the amount of issues that need funding.

Generally, https://shields.io is the place to do these badges. They allow repositories to customize them to have them all in the same style.
I helped a bit there and what we need is the API to retrieve the amount of issues that seek polar attention. I wonder: When there is a polar label, does that mean that these issues need funding by polar? Is this an equivalent?

Answer: No, it is not equivalent. Issues can have the polar description without the label.

I think what would be nice would be to add the polar logo....

One of the named logos (bitcoin, dependabot, gitlab, npm, paypal, serverfault, stackexchange, superuser, telegram, travis) or simple-icons. All simple-icons are referenced using icon slugs. You can click the icon title on simple-icons to copy the slug or they can be found in the slugs.md file in the simple-icons repository. Further info.
