It appears there is a revolt F-Droid repository though it is not discoverable in the app, thus it is not in the official repository and it hasn't been updated for three years. |

I second this. The process isn't too difficult either. https://f-droid.org/docs/Submitting_to_F-Droid_Quick_Start_Guide/ |

I'd also be happy with a straight APK download |

Agree with this thread. F-Droid would be ideal and apk releases on the repo would be good as well for use with Obtainium. |

This feature suggestion had more upvotes than the rest but it's not a new suggestion/request : And F-Droid was discussed in a previous annoucement thread : https://github.com/orgs/stoatchat/discussions/628 |

Please add the app on the official FDroid repo, OR, OR, make a github FOSS build like Mihon does. Google Play Services is never a privacy friendly system app, never is never was. |

F-Droid is an alternative to Google Play Store for FOSS apps. Publishing the app to F-Droid could help reach a larger user base as well as support privacy.
