When I downloaded the latest version of the omp launcher, why did my PC detect a virus from the launcher, then immediately deleted all the files that went to the launcher, was it only the effect on my desktop?

It's a known issue, it's being investigated, if you want you can build from the source.

For now just add it to the exceptions.

No, it has started since today and I've contacted Microsoft about it
You can safely allow the file and keep playing. If you also have trust issues you can just build it yourself from source code available in this repository and there are instructions for it.

In the old setup that was not the case. So this is suspicious! 😅

Majority of the main antivirus providers use the same database, so it’s normal that when one gives a false detection, others also will be doing the same.

Again, if someone is afraid and doesn’t trust, they can build it from source. It has instructions.
