EMBEDDED-TARGETS: the full sub-$500 FPGA field.
Tier C expanded from 12 to ~40 boards across both classes: C1 fully-open toolchain (icestorm iCE40 fleet incl. UPduino/Go Board/Alchitry Cu/ Olimex; prjtrellis ECP5 fleet incl. ULX3S/OrangeCrab/Butterstick/ Colorlight/icesugar-pro/LogicBone/ECP5-EVN; Apicula Gowin Tang Nano/Primer/Mega; GateMate; CrossLink-NX) and C2 free-vendor-tool (Digilent 7-series fleet, EBAZ4205 the $25 recycled Zynq, QMTech value boards incl. sub-$120 Kintex-325T, Kria KV260 at $250, ZUBoard, Terasic DE10s, Efinix Xyloni/Ti60, PolarFire SoC Discovery $132 + Icicle $499 for the hard-RISC-V story, ForgeFPGA). Each board carries its web-flash path per the web-only doctrine: DFU boards (OrangeCrab foboot, ULX3S, LogicBone, Fomu, icesugar-pro's MSC drag-drop) are direct W1 browser targets; everything else flashes through the W3 teiProbe bridge. FPGA priorities restated accordingly. Prices flagged as early-2026 street, verify before E-phase pinning.

The FPGA targets are special: the forge doesn't just flash firmware, it

ships **soft substrates** — LiteX/VexRiscv or NEORV32 SoCs with TEI event
7777
counters synthesized into the fabric (a ledger the hardware itself

maintains). This is the rehearsal for purpose-built TEI silicon.
