This might not be very visible to new contributors, maybe you could have some small doc page explaining how to add new variant callers. Alternatively this could go into the contributing guidelines.

At the moment the contributors guide matches the template exactly. We should start adding elements that are sarek specific either to the template guide or create a secondary document.
