Feature request: Support measurements / annotations embedded in line styles
Hi @mlightcad,
As discussed previously in #285, I would like to open a separate feature request for supporting line styles that contain text / measurement annotations.
Feature description
Some DWG files use line styles where text, measurements, or annotations are displayed as part of the line itself.
At the moment, the geometric line may be rendered, but the associated measurement / annotation text is missing in cad-viewer compared with AutoCAD.
Expected behavior
cad-viewer should render these line styles as closely as possible to AutoCAD, including:
The line / dashed-line pattern
Text embedded in the line style
Measurement values or annotations associated with the line
Correct positioning and orientation of the text along the line
Current behavior
The line itself may be visible, but the measurement / annotation portion is not rendered, resulting in incomplete information compared with the same DWG opened in AutoCAD.
This is particularly important for technical and engineering drawings where these annotations contain useful information and are part of the expected visual output.
Additional context
This was originally discussed in #285, where it was clarified that cad-viewer currently does not support line styles with text, and it was suggested that this functionality be tracked separately as a feature request.
I can provide the same DWG files, comparison screenshots, or additional examples if they would be useful for implementing or testing this feature.
Thank you again for your work on cad-viewer and for considering this feature.
