I am currently working on a number of SQL Server to Azure SQL Database migrations and virtually all of the documentation refers to the use of the SQL Migration extension in Azure Data Studio. I note that Azure Data Studio is due for retirement in Feb 2026 so my question is - will the SQL Migration extension functionality be available in Visual Studio Code ? I have installed VS Code (and the SQL extension) but I don't see any equivalent functionality similar to the SQL migration features in Azure Data Studio.
If you click on any of the 'Migrate SQL Server to Azure SQL' tutorials here (https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/dms/) you can see that they nearly all involve the use of Azure Data Studio and its SQL migration extension.
Will this functionality become available in VS Code by the time ADS retires ?

Any update would be welcome. Thanks
