Hey everyone,
I'm setting up (try to:/) a C6L Unit with an M5Stack PIR AS312 to monitor storage units. I've turned off everything I could. Bluetooth, wifi, and anything that could drain power and set it up in deep sleep mode.
It's powered by a 2x18650 Lithium Battery Shield 7000mAh total, but it only lasted a few days. After a couple of days, I noticed no motion detection was happening, so I went to check the device. It was off, and the batteries were completely drained. It ran for only 2-3 days, and I had one channel configured with telemetry set to once every 24 hours.
I've spent hours searching for a solution but only came across this issues/5781 (the title made me wonder if it might be related to my problem??).
I'm not sure if it's a bug, a configuration problem, or something else. Has anyone else run into this? Or any suggestions on what I can try or look for, to test, etc? Could it be related to deep sleep issues with these devices?
Thanks a lot!
PS.
I had to reset the whole device, erase and re-flash it, I couldn't get it to access it with the python cli, web client, and only the remote administration worked. I'm glad I had it set up.
Edit:
The sensor SHOULD be able to wake the device from deep sleep via GPIO interrupt? (maybe the device didn't even start to go in deep sleep. I was just thinking about that. Just throwing ideas of what could be happening).
I read that : the ESP32-C6 can wake from deep sleep using GPIO 5 - now does the meshtastic firmware actually configure this ext1 wakeup for the Detection Sensor module in SENSOR role?? (again just speculating, if it doesn't already do that). - I found it here esp32c6/api-reference/system/sleep_modes.html (I know I can't post full link)
