VFO-Window and mouse action?

When the mouse is over the "VFO"-window in the "main" window of the program, it would be nice to use the "mouse scrolling" to change the frequency; momentary it is possible to change the frequency by the external VFO-knob -- excellent!

Describe the solution you'd like

enhancement of my above mentioned solution:

1. if the mouse is over one of the numbers of the shown frequency, the scroll action starts with this number.

2. define a key sequence Crtl-.. for up or down (100 Hz with CW mode, 1 kHz with SSB-Mode)

Describe alternatives you've considered

The above solution is a "poor mans solution" for the external VFO-knob mentioned in the project description

hello Michael, may I assist with an example?

the following code opens QT6 a 6 number-field in a window. Put the mouse over one of the number field on a special number. Than scroll up or down -- it increases or decreases the total number.

May be, this give the starting point?

The VFO widget uses a QLCDNumber object. to display the numbers. The VFO widget can't have focus, It'll mess up the Tab action of the main program widget. You can get wheelEvent info for the widget, but not what digit in the QLCDNumber object the mouse is over to know how much to increment or decrement. The only workaround I can think of is to place a bunch of QLCDNumber widgets, each one digit wide, next to each other. So each digit would have it's own wheelEvent handler, Ones, Tens, Hundreds ... on and on.

I'll put it on the maybe pile.

Thanks for your information -- well, it would be a good compromize

• for CW when the stepwidth is 100 Hz and
• for SSB stepwidth is 1 kHz

-- so this may be better to realize for a first atempt.
