installing Magenta on an M1 mac #715

Hi,
I'm wondering if anyone has had any luck installing Magenta on an M1 mac. As far as I can tell Magenta won't install with Python versions above 3.7, and it also seems impossible to download Python 3.7 on macOS Silicon (M1).
Currently trying a work using Rosetta to download an earlier version of python but it doesn't seem to be getting me anywhere
I'm working from the book hands-on music generation with magenta but the installation walkthrough is obviously dated.
Any help is appreciated
