In the pursuit of the most slim site possible, I've been keep a fork running with custom icon support https://github.com/W-Floyd/hugo-coder-iconify

Definitely breaks all current fa-* usage, but works well. Uses https://icons.hugomods.com. It bakes the SVG into the page at build time. Just thought I'd drop a line in case anyone finds it interesting!

Interesting. Let me check your fork first, but this seems a good replacement for font/fork awesome.
