install loopback-connector-ibmi under an app (getting-started example) in ubuntu under wsl #22

Description/Steps to reproduce
I have succesfully installed the ibmi sql driver. i can succefully sqli to my box. after creating the 'getting-started' application i tried running 'npm install loopback-connector-ibmi' to setup odbc connection. I received this error
npm ERR! code 1
npm ERR! path /home/username/getting-started/node_modules/odbc
npm ERR! command failed

per the loopback documentation it appears this connection should work in linux (there are linux steps) to connect to ibmi
