Android - CameraX

Is there a plan to migrate the Android camera implementation to CameraX?

If not, how difficult would this migration be? Could you provide some hints or guidance on how to approach it if I were to do it myself?

It's been a while since I looked at CameraX, but from what I remember it wouldn't make a lot of sence. CameraX was basically a wrapper on top of Camera2 API. Maybe having an example for how to grab an image off of CameraX would be useful. I should also look into using Jetpack Compose. It handles most of the Android Life Cycle that the current camera code in the library handles, but inside a Fragment. Fragments are no longer what Google is saying is the way fof the future.
