This was a project I was supposed to work on. We had an coding exhibition and came up with the idea of creating a subtitle downloader, because its precise problem statement and small code size made it suitable to be written in the time we had before the show. But unfortunately I couldn't work on it. My superfast friend (www.github.com/styx97) did all that was to be done, I took occasional opportunity and patted him on back. I hope to add full (and easy) Windows compatibility to this project (which I don't know how) soon, with an optional GUI interface.

(README from the original repo as follows)

movie_subs

Download movie subtitles from subscene

Execution

Make the python script executable by adding the shebang line, which is #! + full/pathway/to/your/python/interpreter. You can get it by typing which python

I use python from anaconda, so in my case , the shebang line is #!/home/user_name/miniconda3/bin/python

Linux

Put it in a directory on your PATH.

cd ~/bin/
ln -s ~/some/path/to/myscript/arbitraryname

More on PATH and making python files executable here

Windows

Use the package pyinstaller to make it executable. If you have Python added to your PATH environment variable, you can use the pyinstaller module from Python package index. Then in command line, enter -

pip install pyinstaller

pyinstaller movie_subs.py

Python version

All code is written in Python3
