Hi @dcolpitts , I can't give specific info since I don't know what controller you are using. I am going to guess it is an Evolution 1.0? If so, then you either: a) don't have current transformers (CTs) installed (evo 1 22kw versions did not) or If you have an Evo 1.0 then the software will simply read two modbus registers to get the current on leg 1 and leg 2. These values can be off in some cases as describe above and in the link below. This wiki entry has more info, see number 5 on the known issues list: https://github.com/jgyates/genmon/wiki/Appendix-D-Known-Issues#5-current-and-power-output-values this page has some relate info on genmon and power monitoring: https://github.com/jgyates/genmon/wiki/Appendix-H-Monitoring-Fuel-and-Power-Usage |

It is an Evolution 1.0. It is an older firmware. I guess the above explains it, which sorta sucks, but it is what it is. Tks. |

I've been after my dealer for 5 years now to do an update… He claims he can't find his credentials to download it.

Generac dealer can update the firmware on your controller but you'll have a service call for them to do that. Latest for the Evolution 1.0 is 1.21. Other option is pay hook it up to Generac Mobile Link and it would update to the latest software but you'd have to have their wifi module. If you don't it would be cheaper to have a dealer update it.

I had previously looked for something like that, and never actually found a working link. And another search today doesn’t turn anything obvious.

If you look on eBay, there's someone selling a USB drive with all of the firmwares for all of the generators current firmware. I think it's $29 or something. It would be beneficial to the project if we started compiling the firmwares on the wiki or somewhere else for that matter.
I just paid a dealer for the service/diagnostics/repair manual. All the free ones on the internet didn't have the current revision for the air cooled

Had to switch to .com from .ca to see it. That said, is it the same firmware for all oem'd systems? That says Generac, I have an Eaton unit.

A search for "generac firmware" shows the first result is the product mentioned above.

And there is my concern… Grabbing a firmware file that may or may not actually be for my unit. I don't need to brick it. 😊

I don't know about Eaton. I would assume yes, but that is a guess. There are about 5 different firmware variants (air cooled, liquid cooled, etc)

That’s what I was thinking too. Probably not the best of ideas.

Thanks for the offer. If I put this on github, I would guess that this would be subject to a take down request as it is not publicly available binaries.

I'm currently running on generator as I type this due to a snow storm. When I look at the power output in GenMon V1.19.05 (I just upgraded from .04 and it was doing this too), my power output is showing as only 0.12kw. There is no way this is correct. My entire house is running on this generator, including my mini-split (which heats my entire house). My computers alone draw almost 2KW combined. Below is a screenshot of the console, and a screenshot of one of my UPSes that is drawing 1.4KW, and the UPS on my desktop is drawing another 0.3KW as I type this.
I could see the draw being 12KW, but not 0.12KW...
