Upgrade q to a recent SQLite3 version

First, thanks for q. I started using it and I find it very convenient.
Would it be possible to upgrade q with a recent version of sqlite3 to benefit of new features?
For example, the following command with q produces an error

q "select format('%.4f', 3.1415926)"
query error: no such function: format

although

sqlite3 ":memory:" "select format('%.4f', 3.1415926);"
3.1416

gives the expected result with sqlite3 version 3.46.0.
