Problem

Cannot program the board using Type-C USB. Getting "USB Device Not Recognized" error.

What Works

✅ USB-to-TTL (CP2102) programming works perfectly - board hardware is confirmed functional

What I Want

❌ Type-C USB direct programming (as advertised in product description)

What I've Tried

  1. Installed STC-ISP software
  2. Entered bootloader mode (hold kb1 button → plug cable → release after 5 seconds)
  3. Tried multiple Type-C cables and USB ports
  4. Disabled Windows 11 driver signature enforcement
  5. Attempted manual driver installation

Current Error

"USB Device Not Recognized"

  • Windows 11: Device shows as "Unknown USB Device (Device Descriptor Request Failed)" in Device Manager
  • Linux: Same issue - device not recognized/enumerated properly

System Info

  • OS: Windows 11 and Linux (both tested)
  • Board: STC8G1K08A Type-C version (21mm x 19mm)
  • USB-TTL: CP2102 (working on both systems)

Questions

  1. Are there specific bootloader entry steps for Type-C version?
  2. Does the bootloader firmware need updating?
