Problem
Cannot program the board using Type-C USB. Getting "USB Device Not Recognized" error.
What Works
✅ USB-to-TTL (CP2102) programming works perfectly - board hardware is confirmed functional
What I Want
❌ Type-C USB direct programming (as advertised in product description)
What I've Tried
- Installed STC-ISP software
- Entered bootloader mode (hold kb1 button → plug cable → release after 5 seconds)
- Tried multiple Type-C cables and USB ports
- Disabled Windows 11 driver signature enforcement
- Attempted manual driver installation
Current Error
"USB Device Not Recognized"
- Windows 11: Device shows as "Unknown USB Device (Device Descriptor Request Failed)" in Device Manager
- Linux: Same issue - device not recognized/enumerated properly
System Info
- OS: Windows 11 and Linux (both tested)
- Board: STC8G1K08A Type-C version (21mm x 19mm)
- USB-TTL: CP2102 (working on both systems)
Questions
- Are there specific bootloader entry steps for Type-C version?
- Does the bootloader firmware need updating?
