How is the "printable objects" value obtained?

So, having discovered that the skip object feature has been sorted for LAN mode I felt compelled to get it sorted out. Off I went with a print only to see what I assume is the skip button, disabled. When I go and look at the printer it claims that the current "printable objects" value is 1, despite there clearly being 2 very different objects on the plate at present as can be seen here.

So I just wondered how that value is obtained?

Check out the pick image sensor - it is a color coded top-down image. If there are two separate objects it should show that with two different (but likely very close) colors of red.

Assemblies of multiple objects are just one object at print time.

There's probably also a variant where a single stl contains multiple pieces which will then still be considered all one object.

Thanks both. I'll keep an eye on it as both of the objects in that print were imported as separate step files which is what threw me.
