API_KEY login not supported for genai.client

getting error while running this code:

ConnectionClosedError: received 1008 (policy violation) API keys are not supported by this API. Actual vs expected behavior:

It seems that API login is no longer supported by the client.

python version: Python 3.12.12
install commands: pip install -U google-genai pyaudio

Can you try doing this instead of setting the api key:

from google.colab import auth
auth.authenticate_user()

I tried reproducing this issue, but instead it gave me this error: ConnectionClosedError: received 1007 (invalid frame payload data) Cannot extract voices from a non-audio request.; then sent 1007 (invalid frame payload data) Cannot extract voices from a non-audio request.

Hi @jaymundra, thanks for bringing this to our attention.

I’ve reproduced the issue using the exact code snippet from the documentation and I'm getting the same ConnectionClosedError (1007) regarding voice extraction.

I am escalating this directly to our engineering team to investigate why the documentation code is failing. We appreciate you flagging this!
