sprLib.file(somefile).checkout is not a function

Uncaught TypeError: sprLib.file(...).checkout() is not a function
Was returned for the first time.

Any clue as to why this is so? I have been using this since June without issue, now today there is an issue.
sprLib.file(somefile).info() functions just fine!
