POT for droughts

Sir,
I was not familiar with the extreme value and other related concepts. It took me time to develop an understanding. I have the drought index data, which is monthly data, so how to use the pyextremes library , EVA or POT for the same , as i see that the block is in days . secondly is it posisble to create a user defined threhold like -1 .
