Even if I disable the preview of .rar files and uninstall "Dark Thumbs" it remains, how to fix?

Gotcha.

The Windows Thumbnail cache has to be wiped clean. The easiest way I've found to do that is to use "Disk Cleanup". When run, the default options include wiping the thumbnails.
