I recently got one of the Pico Systems during the holiday and have found that I am not able to turn the volume up with the key commands. Also while trying to exit the in game menu it causes the unit to freeze up.

The only thing I can do is power the unit off to recover.

I assume you are using version 1.5.0, which is the latest release.

Did you also solder the additional speaker, or are you only using the internal piezo speaker?

The volume change combo is removed because you can do this in the in-game menu. I forgot to change the README for this. Just updated the README.

Are you able to change the volume through the in-game menu? You can open it with Y + X, then press Down until the volume settings appear, and use Left/Right to adjust the volume.

When you mention exiting, do you mean exiting the game back to the game list, or exiting the menu back into the game? I don’t experience a lock-up in either case, but I believe I know what might be causing it.

I’ll see what I can do to address both issues.

I am sooooo sorry to has taken me longer than I hope to recover from an illness. The lockup happened while exiting after adjusting the volume using the in game menu.

I will test this firmware tomorrow and get back to you.

So I have tested it with the above firmware and it is still happening. I am able to adjust the volume backlight etc but when I get to the in game menu option where it allows you to exit/close it locks up and I have to power the unit off and back on again to recover. I have tried this with a few different roms to see if it might have been a particular rom but it happens on them all.

The problem is I cannot reproduce the crash right now. Need to do some further investigation.
